Eligibility Criteria

 

Candidates for the Distinguished Professorship must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Excellence: A proven record of research and publication in top-tier journals, contributing to the advancement of their field.
  • Impact: Significant contributions that have influenced research directions, methodologies, and applications within their discipline.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in academic settings, including roles in mentoring, administration, and curriculum development.
  • Recognition: Receipt of previous awards, citations, and recognition by professional organizations and peers.



Nomination and Selection Process

The process of awarding an Distinguished Professorship involves several steps:

Nomination

Faculty members, department chairs, or deans can submit nominations. Self-nominations are also accepted.  

Documentation

Nominations must include a detailed curriculum vitae (CV), a statement of contributions, and supporting letters from peers and students.  

Review  

A selection committee, comprising senior faculty and administrative members, reviews all nominations and evaluates candidates based on the established criteria.

Approval

The committee's recommendations are submitted to the university's governing body for final approval.
